Camp Conquest !

I'M BACK !!!!!!!!

What a coincidence , its the 700th post !

I dont know how to start about this camp . I'll just write down what I feel , & what we did . [caution: wordy post & the first day is not in order due to my poor memory]

Met Huijun & Kaixin at AMK mrt on Wednesday morning , & made our way to school . Kaixin isnt going for the camp . Had assembly & then we went up to the hall . Those who werent going to the camp had to leave the hall .

They briefed us , & we met our platoon mentors , PM Azree & PM Cheryl . When I saw them , it was as though I was looking at people from the army - The way they dressed perhaps ? Anyway , a surge of anticipation swept through me as I waited for them to finish briefing . We had only one rule throughout the entire camp - to give our 100% participation .

They collected our handphones in a trash bag which will be sealed & only opened at the end of camp . I gave my phone & wallet willingly . We then headed to the bus ! After 15-20 mins , we finally arrived at Jalan Lekar . We had to climb the steep slopes up to our bunks .

We put our bags at the beds , grabbed our waterbottle , the notebook they gave us , a pen & personal medication & lined up in front of the PMs . They briefed us on the activities we were going to do . It was BMT - Basic Military Training .

The very first activity that we did was to play a game similar to the clock game . PM Azree would stand in front , back facing us , & say something . Once he start saying , we have to run past him , but if he turns around before we do , we have to lie flat on the field . Those who didnt lie flat were considered "dead" & would have to go back to the starting point & a person who hasnt "died" had to accompany that person . After two times of playing it , our whole class managed to run past him !

Then we had a special mission to do . It was called Postman Walk . We had to hold one rope , & stand on one rope , & walk over the pond to the other end . At the starting point , there will be a person jumping on the rope & encouraging you to drop into the "acidic pond" . All of us made it through except for me who did not participate . I couldnt get over my fear of heights . ><

Next , we had to reflect . PM Azree talked to us about himself , his past . I was thinking alot too , but everything shall be kept in my mind . After that , we went to do another activity . A long tube with many holes , small & big , and has two red balls at the bottom . Our objective is to use our hands to cover ALL the holes , & some of us will pour water into the tube , making the balls float & when we are able to get the ball , we succeeded . We took 20 mins to do so , with Mr Tan & Ms Foo's help . Hahahaas , Mr Tan said that he thought that inside the tube was midyear exam paper's answers , thats why we wanted it so badly ! xD

My memory is failing me , but I think after that was lunch ? Yup yup . I forgot the lunch too . [will someone update me on the meals on the first day ? I only can remember the second & third days meals , thank you !]

After that , we practised drills ! So funnnn ! We practised for a long time , & then it rained . Everyone stayed under shelter , & played a game ! We had the 4Ds of the school , Determination , Diligence , Dedication & Discipline . We had to tear the paper up , let the PMs mix them together , & give them out . We then had to go to other groups to exchange with them to form our puzzle !

Then we had the 30 word challenge ! & I can still remember PM Cheryl's story (more or less) . Okay , the ones in bold is the one that is edited , & the ones in brackets are the correct words . If no brackets , means that the words are not edited , they will just be in bold . xD Cause sometimes need to break the words up to make the story or not very hard .

There was a statue holding an encyclopedia . On its head there was a crown with a hyperbola in it . As the hyperbola is too heavy , it fell & hit the janitor . The janitor held out an umbrella to shield himself & flower urine [fluorine] flows out of the umbrella , & forms an oak tree ! On the oak tree , there is a photo of a sister doing a twist [photosynthesis] , & on her other hand held a banana . She opened the banana & in the banana is a fan which tangled her hair . Then a blue ghost [glucose] appeared & the policeman went to catch it & put it in the zoo ! It was very angry so it used its handphone to call Japan management . It was so funny that it laughed until its lungs came out . The lungs parachute down while eating meesua [parameswara] .

Then the other ten words were :

After that was dinnerrrrr ~[Please tell me what is it ><] & we all saw the double rainbow ! I cant begin to say how beautiful & rare it is . Photo can be seen at http://liveatdeyi.wordpress.com . (: The rainbow was huge & spectacular . I'll never forget that image .


We had a very rushed bath with all the flying ants & sometimes cockroaches looking at us bathe . xD Angela & I didnt know how to on the water at first . She asked me if I knew , & I told her I didnt . Then suddenly a few voices came out & told us to push the blue thing to the left . I cant believe I actually went to pull it out . >< & the water was very little .

Then after that we had the POP - Passing Out Parade , where we were promoted from recruits to privates ! When our name was called , we had to Sediya ourselves , raise up our right hand & say , "Sir Yes Sir !" & run towards the teacher , in my case was Ms Foo . Then we had to salute the teacher & shake their hands , then salute again before running back to the original position .

The VIP was Mdm Normilla . =.= Oh , before we were promoted , we had to sing the national anthem & the school song first . I did sing okay !!!!! xD Alright , then we had supper , which was biscuits & lemon barley/soy milk !

We sat at the place full of frogs croaking & when we looked up , we saw many stars . So beautiful , & we found the brightest star using the stars to navigate ! Lights off was at 10.30pm which was a little bit too rushed as we havent gotten used to our wooden beds . xD Closed my eyes & slept .

Woke up at 4.30am in the morning due to people talking . Some people were unable to sleep . Woke JIAJIA up and went for morning shower ! There was an abundant supply of water as not many people bathed . Besides that , the water was ice cold too ! We had to assemble at 7am , so many rushed when nearing that time . They forced us to go back to sleep at 5am , which I did , in my contacts . I drifted to sleep subconsciously & was woken up by noises again at 6am . Packed stuffs , refilled water & off we went !

My whole shoulder was aching due to my stupid sleeping position & we had a Stand By Bed thingy where we have to stand by our beds , put our stuffs neatly at one corner of the bed , pin our hair , wear socks , tuck in shirts , etc .

Altogether they found 43 mistakes & each mistake is 10 success claps ! Do your math . Success clap is a clap which requires you to put your arms out at the side straight , then clap above your head . Girls had to do for about 430 times while guys had to do 400 times . However , they kept stopping us when we were doing halfway as we were not united .

After about 200 success claps which was stopped by the PMs who were leading , the boys joined us . Together as a cohort , we did about 500 success claps . Although I was trembling due to the ache , I endured , as everyone was doing it as well , why cant I ? *Hums "Bob the builder , can we fix it ? Bob the builder , yes we can !"*

I'm so glad that I managed to endure through . This is really pushing myself to the limit . :D Then it was breakfast , which was carrot cake ! >< Skipped breakfast with Angela . They passed us our compact lunches with biscuits & a bar of something . xD

Then we had our RECCE Patrol , which is looking at a map , & navigating around to find the place .

First stop - Holy Land ~ Cheering all the way ! Very tiring . We had to find a photoframe , & then the PMs will give us a task to do . Once we finished the task , we had a message to decode . There were 50 number cards on the floor & our task was to step on the cards from 1-50 . Some people had to step twice cause we dont have that many people .

Next stop - Base camp ~ While walking back , Aaron was doing this cheer , saying about a ship with a rock with a boy with a hand with fingers with a rod with a line with a fish . LOLS . Something along that line . xD Was laughing like hell . HAHAHAAS . Our task was to search for the enemy's things . Then JIAJIA worked together with the PMs to trick everyone that she had heatstroke to see what we will do . I knew she was faking ! Muahahahaas ! There were some who actually believed ..~

HINT TO JIAJIA : FLOWERRRR ~

After that , it was raining , so we had the Great Raid . When groups saw each other , we had to say , "CONTACTED !" & then a PM will come & decide the challenge . A long stick was our battleship & pails were our territory . We won some , lost some . xD

Then it was time for the victory march . Perspired alot , cheered sometimes . Alot of times we were just talking & wiping off perspiration . 1 hour 30 mins , 7km . I cant believe that I actually walked THAT much . Had to keep saying "CLOSE THE GAP !!!" to JIAJIA . She walks very slow & she wishes to have Yaoming's legs .

When we went back to school , it was dinner ! Oh , I didnt touch the compact lunch at all when they ate , & for dinner I only ate a few grains of rice . But I ate a banana ! xD Rushed to bathe again & wore the pink class tee ! I forgot to bring my towel & borrowed it from JIAJIA .

Rehearsed for the CO night , organised by 305 . Our class did a very cute perfomance ! We started off with the 4Ds of the school [refer above] , then we sang "Two little panthers , two little panthers , run very fast , run very fast , one dont have eyes , one dont have ears , very funny , very funny ." xD then we sang the "more we get together song" , followed by our class cheer , "We will , we will show you what we always do
We will always be the best
Move like lightning , Shout like thunder (x2)
eh oh eh oh eh oh
ti ti ti bom bom
eh oh eh oh eh oh
ti ti ti bom bom
We are boom dynamites ,
BOOM"
& ended off with "I love 308 x2 , You love 308 x2 & We love 308 x2" .

Debrief after that , we became titans somewhere along the way ? Reflected & went back in time to the first day that we arrived at the camp . Closed our eyes & concentated , blocking out croakings of the frogs . After that had supper & recieved our grey camp tees ! xD

Lights out at midnight & needed to assemble by 7.30am the next day .

Woke up at 6am++ with someone calling me . Is it ? I'm not very sure cause I was very tired . Bathed in the morning again with bugs looking at us & I FORGOT TO BRING TOWEL AGAIN . This time I didnt care & just wore my clothes on . Rush rush rush & had a surprise Stand-By-Bed , but this time there's no consequences . xD The contact lenses were irritating my right eye so badly that it was swollen & I had to take it out .

Was in the training shed waiting for our breakfast when Muttons in the morning was on ! HAHAHAHAAS , so funny . They played all different kinds of songs & 3 of the PMs were dancing to it . Breakfast was char kway tiao & I loved it !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I finished before everyone else !

Only 308 wore classtee & the other classes wore camp tee . After taking numerous class photos , we then changed into camp tee ! Then we needed to do area cleaning . We got the girls' toilet . LOLS .

Had Graduation Parade & got a light blue bandana . Best troopers were Zexuan & Eline . Had our very last debrief with the PMs . Had to write our personal thoughts , & also feedback . As we prepared to go , many of us , or should I say all , felt like crying . Some just let it go , but some held on to their tears .

As the bus left the campsite , PMs waved back at us , smiling . We waved back too . Back at school , everyone who went to the camp fall in at the quadrangle , & did our last 30 success claps [it seems to little now] & our last kulua baris . & many many WHOSAY ! xD

I never felt so emotional after a camp before . I miss the camp . With nothing pulling me back now , I was able to partipate 110% into the activities & my objective was to make this the best camp of my life & I focused on it . I've reached my goal . (: This is certainly one of the most educational , inspiring , touching , & fun camp I have ever had .

Went home for a bath & short rest before heading back to school for the debate competition at CHIJ St Joseph Convent . Although we lost , but there were many learning points for us to learn from . ^^ Took LRT from bakau to Sengkang . Had KFC with JIAJIA & Wanying , we kept laughing lah ! xD & JIAJIA swallowed her half eaten zinger . Then sat on the bus from SengKang to AMK , which was also filled with laughter . Took MRT home & reached home before midnight !

Now is already 2am & I spent about 2 hours typing this post out . This camp is etched in my mind so deeply . (: I wont mind staying a few more days , letting bugs land on me every few minutes , having more mosquito bites , cause the camp was really enjoyable . (:

I should end my sentimental post here . ^^

Argh smokers !

[Warning : Offensive to smokers & those who love smoke . Read at your own risk .]

I JUST DONT UNDERSTAND . I SIMPLY CANNOT UNDERSTAND .

Why people love smoking so much ? Why do they love putting their lives at stake so much ? Why why why why why ?

Let me list down the harmful effects of smoking before I begin .

There are over 4000 types of chemicals in each cigarette. 400 of them are poisonous and at least 50 of them cause cancer.

Some of these chemicals include :

•Nicotine : causes addiction
• Carbon monoxide : a dangerous gas found in car exhaust smoke
• Tar : used to cover surface of roads
•Acetone : paint stripper
•DDT : a pesticide which kills mosquitoes and ants
•Arsenic : white ant poison
• Formaldehyde : used to embalm dead bodies
• Ammonia : active ingredient in floor cleaners
•Hydrogen : cyanide poison used in gas chambers

Smoking can kill you in many ways , such as :

Heart disease and stroke - Smoking causes fatty deposits to build up in the blood vessels, leaving them narrow or blocked. This leads to heart disease or stroke. About 40% of deaths due to heart disease before the age of 65 are related to smoking.

Cancer - Cigarette smoke contains more than 50 cancer-causing substances. Smoking is the most common, preventable cause of lung cancer. Smokers are 22 times more likely to develop lung cancer. 90% of all lung cancer cases in Singaporean males occur among smokers.

Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) / Chronic Obstructive Lung Disease (COLD) - Smoking narrows the airways and destroys the air sacs in the lungs. This makes breathing difficult. Smoking is the most common cause of COPD/COLD, which includes chronic bronchitis and emphysema. COPD/COLD is the 6th largest cause of death in Singapore.

If people breathe in second hand smoke :

• Exposure to cigarette smoke, even for brief periods, can cause eye, nose and throat irritation.
• It can also cause headaches, dizziness, nausea, coughing and wheezing.
• Cigarette smoke smoke can make it worse for people already suffering from allergies or asthma.
• Cigarette smoke can cause you to develop heart disease and cancer.
• Your spouse will be affected by your cigarette smoke. A wife is put at greater risk of death from heart disease if she breathes in the smoke from her husband.
• Chemicals in cigarette smoke can stimulate the formation of various cancers and/or speed up its development.

& If you smoke in front of children :

• Children of smokers are twice more likely to develop respiratory infections, middle ear infections, asthma and chronic bronchitis than children of non-smokers.
• Children of smokers are also twice as likely to start smoking themselves compared to children of non-smokers.




Yeah ! So stop smoking today & stop causing me to die faster due to cancer . You want to die , go ahead , its not like I care . Just dont cause the death of my family & me . I dont even smoke yet I may have lung cancer because of YOU folks out there who dont care about your lives & are so inconsiderate & not care about others as well .

Who do you think YOU are ? Smoke all you want but dont implicate others . Its rude . You cause hundreds of deaths per year , (Maybe even including your own) , & those innocent people died for the very reason that you smoked in front of them , causing them to inhale your smelly , disgusting second hand smoke !

What kind of person are you ? Dont you feel guilty for what you'd done ? Killing lots of people ? Are you even human ? Yeah , smoking gets you high , so ? Just because of that "highness" for that few moments , you kill many people ? Just for the sake of your own happiness , you risk others lives ?

People who smoke when others are around are inhuman . Seriously they dont even care about those who stand around there & they smoke like there's no tomorrow . Thus killing many others who are just innocently standing there .

& In a cigarette , there is CARBON MONOXIDE . I do want my blood cells to continue sending oxygen throughout my whole body do you know that ? No one wants to die so soon except for you . So go end your life but dont bring others along with you , you moron !

EVERY SINGLE THING in the cigarette is a chemical . Poisonous chemicals in fact . Like what I said , you want to go & die , go ahead . Just dont kill others as well .

They should have a smoking room under each block . Smokers ONLY can go there to smoke & cannot smoke anywhere else . The door to that room must ALWAYS be closed & are only allowed to be opened if someone wants to go in or go out . The room must have either one small window , or no windows at all , so the smoke is unable to go out . Then all the smokers will smell their smoke & feel that its so smelly & stop smoking once & for all .

OHYEAH , why are you all contributing to global warming ? All your harmful gases that come out from your body is released into the air & depletes the ozone layer . WHY ARE YOU ALL DOING THIS ? NOW EVERYONE IS GOING TO DIE BECAUSE OF YOU IDIOTS !!!!!!!!!!!! Seriously , you people are so stupid . You'll live to regret this one day when you realise your whole family is dying because of YOU ! & If you stay alone , you'll regret that this is the cause of your death .

If one day the world ends , we all know who to blame . Of course they are not TOTALLY at fault , but they are at fault too . Imagine if one smoker smokes a pack of cigarettes a day , there are THOUSANDS of smokers here in Singapore . They are MILLIONS worldwide . Thus they too contribute to global warming & causing the death of everyone .

WHY CANT THE GOVERNMENT JUST BAN CIGARETTES !? You want to smoke ? Fly to somewhere else which sell cigarettes to smoke . Singapore is a clean & green city ? How to be when there are so many smokers all around POLLUTING the fresh air that the trees give out ?

Argh , smokers . Cant understand & wont understand . Stupid people . & , STOP SMOKING WHILE YOU'RE WALKING , YOU'RE JUST SPREADING THE SMOKE AROUND FOR EVERYONE TO SMELL & DIE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You stinker . You want a black heart , black lungs , black nails , yellow teeth , GO AHEAD ! But please , dont dirty our hearts & lungs too . We dont smoke like you , we dont even smoke , we dont even TOUCH cigarettes , & yet we get those , because of YOU every single day . Oh , just go & die will you ? Stop stinking up the earth with those pollutants that reside in your cigarette .

I dont care yeah ?

The second option , instead of killing yourself , why dont you just QUIT SMOKING ? You'll bring your heart & lungs happiness . You'll also bring your family & your friends happiness . Yeah , a friend who asks you to smoke is not a good friend by the way . You will not pollute the Earth & lessen the chances of global warming , which is good .

I shall repeat again , IF YOU WANT TO DIE SO BADLY , GO AHEAD . JUST DONT IMPLICATE THE REST OF THE PEOPLE WHO ACTUALLY DO HAVE A LIFE & WANT TO LIVE .

So boring .........

A week has passed again . Each week flies past like no body's business .

I feel busy but somehow when I look back , it doesnt seem busy to me . Maybe cause I'm too busy lazing around watching tv . Who knows .

So tired , one whole week & almost each day , or maybe everyday , you can hear me saying , "So ______" , it can be tired , boring , sian or anything else that you're able to think of .

Now is 11pm , & I just woke up ! I slept at 7pm & woke up at 10pm . It wasnt a nice sleep , I still feel very sleepy , so after this post I'm going to sleep ! Which is so early for a Friday night ..

Whatever . Got lots of work to be completed ~ Tomorrow do . I'm very tired today . Yawns .

Artclub today was not bad ! Pratiwi is so funny ! Hahahaas , yup . The picture above is what I drew , SAFETY STARTS WITH ME ! Thats me . So called .

Camp next week ! Am I the only one hyped up for the camp ? ): Come on people , its our last camp ! So boring .

Anyway I have concluded that I'm not busy , its just that I watch too much tv . But the shows are nice anyway . ><

The day I almost went blind .

Today was so scary ! I thought I was going to go blind , boo .

My eyes are usually very dry due to contact lenses , & I usually place my fingers on my closed eyelid , pressing it , & it will have some moisture . However , today it was extremely dry , & I was playing with the contact lens in my left eye .

Like , when I release my hand from my eyelid , & I open my eye , the contact lens will slowly slide back to its original position , cause I think I pull it up abit .

So , this time , it didnt come back down ! I thought it didnt move at all , cause sometimes that happens . However , my eye was very irritating & kept watering . I looked in the mirror , & BAM ! I realised that my left eye doesnt have the contact lens !

So I pulled down the bottom of my eye , nothing is there . I lifted my eyelid , & I saw something black at the top right hand corner . Its my contact lens ! Just a few seconds late & it would have went to the back of my eye .

I pulled it out & washed my hands . Then I put eyedrop on the contact lens , & rewear the contact lens . No its not disgusting , I have to or not I wont be able to see in one eye . Wouldnt that be weird ?

Wooooo but what a scary encounter .

Lesson learnt , put eyedrop ! Felicia dont be lazy anymore , eyedrop is beneficial to you & your eye . Dont jeopardize your eyesight just because of one contact lens . Tsk .

Alright , I have learnt my lesson . I just want to blog about this to make sure I never forget it !

Also , I fell down the stairs today , cause I was trying to kick abigail's backside but I missed . Luckily , I didnt fall on my butt ! :D & my precious wallet broke my fall . I loveeee my new wallet ! :D
